Just discovered this post--and sent me scrambling to find my copy of the old Black Dog cookbook. I've made the garlic-crusted cod so many times I do it now w/o a recipe, but there are so many other goodies in it I want to make again. Have you tried it? https://bookshop.org/p/books/the-black-dog-summer-on-the-vineyard-cookbook-elaine-sullivan/V79Vw9HqMdhJHHif

Yes--about making clam chowder. (I did that once…even harvested the quahaugs from Tashmoo Lake. Quite an experience but too lazy to try it again. Now I get them from Net Result, lol)

Anne M, your creativity is going MAD!!

This article about The Black Dog, and Kate’s recipe, is OUTSTANDING.

Clearly, I need to convince Terri to try making it, and this “twist” on your work is OUTSTANDING!

My only regret is that when we visited the Vinyard, you didn’t expose us to The Black Dog; clearly, work needs to be done with our travels.

Please keep working on your new venture; so much great info to be shared!

Thanks!…JohnM

OMG John!! What a great comment. Thank you so much!

You can come back any time to enjoy the chowder.....BUT...you always seem to be in that Mexican happy place of yours:).

I loved this story. Kate is a natural - so much personality - and looks comfortable in the kitchen doing things she has never done before. I might have consumed a little wine to calm my nerves but she did great. Clam chowder looks delicious!

Love this! Kate’s a natural, and the recipe sounds divine. And what a great idea to feature home cooks recreating restaurant recipes in their home kitchens!
